Location:

Bialowieza Forest (NE Poland, Bialowieza National Park) - last primeval deciduous forest in Central Europe, World Heritage area

Note! We cannot guarantee any of the species listed below. The success will depend on the general wildlife situation, weather and water level which is different every year. Esp. crane places accessibility depends on water level very much!

birds:
crane hides (temporary tents and mobile): Cranes (roosting), White-tailed Eagle, White Egret, Grey Heron, Marsh Harrier, Whooper Swan, geese, waders etc.
raptor hides (permanent): Goshawk, Common Buzzard, Sparrowhawk, chances for White-tailed Eagle
reflection pool/feeder hides (permanent): Sparrowhawk, Blackbird, Goldfinch, Siskin, Greenfinch, Hawfinch, Middle Spotted Woodpecker, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Wren, Robin, Bullfinch, Tits and more

mammals: main: European Bison, additional: Red Deer (rutting, September), Elk, Roe Deer, Red Fox

We will photograph wildlife from permanent and temporary hides, at drinking pools, during photowalks and photosafari.
Note! To get to the crane hides it might be necessary to wade in water/marsh and to stay in shallow water/mud in the hide!

Number of participants: min 4, max 8

Rough itinerary:

The photo sessions will usually take place early in the morning (ca. 4h) and in the afternoon/evening (ca. 4-6h) to take advantage of the best light and best wildlife activity. In the middle of the day you will have a short break to relax and look through the images. We will work in two 4-person groups.

Day 1
- arrival in Warsaw airport
- transfer to Bialowieza, ca. 4h, 230 km
- dinner

Day 2
- early morning bison safari / crane hide session (two groups)
- breakfast
- afternoon guided nature walk in the oldest part of the Bialowieza National Park , (7km walk, ca. 3-4 hours)
- dinner

Day 3
- crane hide session / early morning bison safari (two groups)
- breakfast
- afternoon hide sessions
- dinner

Day 4
- early morning bison safari / crane hide session (two groups)
- breakfast
- afternoon hide sessions
- dinner

Day 5
- crane hide session / early morning bison safari (two groups)
- breakfast
- afternoon hide sessions
- dinner

Day 6
- breakfast
- departure and transfer to Warsaw airport, ca. 4h, 230 km

Price: 1200 Euro/person, deposit: 400 Euro

included in the price: accommodation and all meals (full board) in B&B, double rooms, transport (local and to/from Warsaw airport), guiding, hide usage;
not included in the price: personal insurance, flight tickets, all items of personal nature, alcoholic drinks;

Recommended equipment:

- good hiking boots
- warm, waterproof clothes for chilly mornings
- cable release
- rubber boots / waders (might be useful to get to the crane hides; we have some pairs to rent; ask for details before coming)
- head torch
- powerbank
- thermos flask

Note on the airport transfer:

- you have to arrive in the Warsaw airport at 14.00 at the latest; if it is not possible - let us know it before booking the trip
- your flight home should not be earlier than at 15.00
