Species which can be photographed during this trip:

Common Buzzard, Crane , Goshawk, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Greenfinch, Grey Headed Woodpecker, Flycatchers (June, if we find a nest), Hawfinch, Hoopoe (June, if we find a nest), Kingfisher (from a boat), Lesser spotted Eagle, Marsh Harrier, Middle Spotted Woodpecker, Penduline Tit, Pygmy Owl, Ruff (April) (from a boat), Sparrowhawk, Three Toed woodpecker (June, if we find a nest), White Stork, White-tailed Eagle, waterfowl, waders

European Bison, Elk, Beaver (at night), also possible: Red Deer, Roe Deer, Red Fox, Racoon Dog, Pine Marten

We will photograph wildlife from permanent and temporary hides, at drinking pools, during photowalks, photosafari and boat trips. We cannot guarantee any of the species listed above. The success will depend on the general wildlife situation which is different every year and our luck of course.

Number of participants: min 4, max 8

Rough itinerary (subject to change depending on conditions):

The photo sessions will usually take place early in the morning (ca. 4h) and in the afternoon/evening (ca. 4-6h) to take advantage of the best light and best wildlife activity. In the middle of the day you will have time to relax and look through the images.

Day 1
- arrival at Warsaw airport
- transfer to Bialowieza village, 250 km, ca. 3-4h drive
- dinner

Day 2 - Bialowieza Forest
- breakfast, break
- guided walk in the Strictly Protected Area of the Bialowieza National; it is the oldest part of the forest and you can visit it only with a licensed guide; 7km walk, ca. 3-4 hours; in June chances for woodpeckers (black, middle-spotted, great spotted) and flycatchers (collared, red-breasted)
- afternoon hide session
- dinner

Day 3 - Bialowieza Forest
- early morning Pygmy Owl walk (April)
- breakfast
- afternoon hide session
- dinner

Day 4 - Bialowieza Forest
- early morning Bison safari (searching for European Bison and other wildlife)
- breakfast
- afternoon hide session
- dinner

Day 5 - Bialowieza Forest
- early morning lakeshore hide session
- breakfast
- transfer to Biebrza Marshes, 150 km, 2h drive
- dinner
- evening beaver boat trip (1-2h)
We will photograph beavers at night from a boat and they will be lit by halogen lamps. The light will not be perfect for photography but sufficient in terms of intensity ( ISO 3200 and more will be necessary). In the dark we may get very close to these animals and this way of photographing them is very efficient.

Day 6 - Biebrza Marshes
- early morning Elk safari (searching for Elk and other wildlife)
- breakfast, break
- afternoon car trip: birds and landscapes from a car
- dinner

Day 7 - Biebrza Marshes
- sunrise boat trip on the Narew river, birds and landscapes from a boat (if time allows)
- breakfast
- departure for Warsaw (180km), 2-3h drive

Accommodation and meals:

B&B in Bialowieza and Biebrza area, twin rooms with bathrooms
single rooms with limited availability, a supplement of 70 or 140 Euro/person/trip needed

Transport: minibus and 4x4

Price: 1250 Euro/person, deposit: 300 Euro

included in the price: accommodation and all meals (full board) in B&B, transport (local and to/from Warsaw airport), guiding, hide usage, boat trips

not included in the price: personal insurance, flight tickets, alcoholic drinks, all items of personal nature, optional activities

Recommended equipment:

- tripod with detachable head
- good hiking boots or rubber boots
- warm clothes for chilly mornings
- right angle finder
- insect repellent (June)
- snacks for hide sessions
- powerbank

Note on the airport transfer:

- you have to arrive in the Warsaw airport at 14.00 at the latest; if it is not possible - let us know it before booking the trip
- your flight home should not be earlier than at 14.00
