Possible inconveniences
The aim of the trip will be birds inhabiting Catalan steppes. A particularly interesting species is the little bustard, closely related to the great bustard. This bird performs very spectacular lekking behaviour, during which males stamp their feet, jump energetically, flap their wings, and make characteristic sounds. Hopefully we will witness this amazing behaviour.
We will have a selection of photohides at our disposal and possible targets include typical birds of the area: stone curlew, Bonelli's eagle, woodchat shrike, lesser kestrel, blue rock thrush. With some luck we can also expect close encounters with: little owl, roller, bee-eater, hoopoe, black kite and marsh harrier.
Photo sessions will take place mainly from specially prepared permanent hides, some of them equipped with mirror glass. Thanks to this, the photographer, his movements and the movements of the lens are completely invisible to the birds.
